Brett D. Altman

Brett Altman is a personal injury attorney licensed to practice in Michigan, Pennsylvania & New JerseyBrett D. Altman joined the Goren, Goren & Harris team of experienced attorneys in 2011, after having practiced law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey at the multinational law firm Cozen O’Connor.  There, he represented clients in million dollar cases involving automobile accidents, legal malpractice claims, contract and lease disputes, entertainment law and real estate matters.  He tried cases to verdict, and recovered millions in arbitration awards.

Mr. Altman holds an Ivy League law degree from the University of Pennsylvania.  He also has a Certificate in Business and Public Policy from Wharton Business School. He interned for Chief Judge Alice M. Batchelder of the U.S. Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, and is licensed to practice in Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey.  Mr. Altman also has been admitted to practice pro hac vice in numerous other states.

Since joining the firm, Mr. Altman has made a name for himself representing clients in car accident cases, even where the client was at fault for the accident.  He has helped many at-fault clients receive compensation for their medical bills, nursing care, lost wages, and help with household chores — even if the client had no car insurance.

Many of Mr. Altman’s clients have the horrible injury known as Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy (RSD).  Mr. Altman’s familiarity with this condition, vigor in the courtroom, and respect in the community have helped him obtain hundreds of thousands of dollars for these clients.

Mr. Altman also devotes a significant portion of his practice to representing victims of motorcycle accidents, vicious dog bites and attacks, unsafe premises conditions (including trip-and-falls), and Social Security Disability (SSD) claims.

Mr. Altman’s success has received attention.  In 2013-2015, he was selected as one of the “Top Attorneys in Michigan” and a “Rising Star” based on peer recognition and professional achievement, an achievement that was published in The New York Times. He has also been selected as one of the “Top 10 under 40” by the National Academy of Personal Injury Attorneys for 2013-2015, as well as a 2014-2015 “Michigan Rising Star” by Super Lawyers, as published in Super Lawyers Magazine and Hour Detroit.  In 2016, Mr. Altman was honored as a Top 40 Under 40 Litigation Lawyer in the State of Michigan by the American Society of Legal Advocates, an organization that recognizes the top 1.5% of lawyers nationally.
